A training for all lectors will be held on Sunday, October 10th after the 10:15am Holy Eucharist. This will be a refresher for current lectors and a training for the newest ones. Please let Fr. Paul know if you cannot attend.
This walk will be held on Saturday, September 25th at Hyland Park in Bloomington. St. George’s once again will be involved. If you wan tto walk or if you wish to sponsor a walker, please see Mother Mildred Cox or Sandy Stonehouse.
The Buildings & Grounds Committee is holding a Spring Fundraiser. We would like to raise a little extra money for some special projects, for example replacing the bushes along Minnetonka Blvd. and repairing the stonework by the front steps.
We will be selling Butter Braid paistries. We will take orders in the Parish Hall on Sunday March 28th and April 11th. The pastries would be available for pick up on Sunday, May 2nd, one week before Mother’s Day. THe pastries are frozen and will need to stay frozen until use. Each pastry costs $10 and there are several fillings available. We sole these previously and they were quite good and well received. Please look for committee members in the Parish Hall to place your orders.
As part of our ministry for Alzheimer’s and other memory loss, we would like to offer a support group at St. George’s. This group is open to people who are currently caregivers, spouses, children and grandchildren; persons who have memory loss and persons who are interested in a pastoral role with persons with memory loss.

It is with a great deal of pleasure that the Discernment Team and the Vestry announce that The Rev. Paul Allick has been called to be the seventh Rector of St. George’s Episcopal Church.
A little over one year ago, Father Paul Allick came to St. George’s as Priest in Charge. He was very down to earth and his sermons were easy to listen to and understand. It seemed that all of us were almost instantly comfortable with him. He quietly went about his work which included Gospel Based Discipleship, feast-day services, teaching, calling on the shut-ins and hospitalized, a joint confirmation class with two other Episcopal churches and facilitating a Newcomer Committee, to name just some of what he has done in his time here. He showed us how much we can learn from the Book of Common Prayer, and he emphasized the role of the baptized and the laity in the church. And he encouraged those who weren’t baptized or confirmed to consider taking steps to receive those sacraments which many have already done.
