Welcome to St. George’s!

At St. George's, you will find a cross section of America, striving to live in harmony with God and with each other. We are God's children trying to live into God's kingdom. We are young, old, straight, gay, black, white and brown, and have a spectrum of political affiliations and perspectives.

As Episcopalians, we are "old fashioned," retaining the ancient traditions and worship services of the first Christians. At the same time, Episcopalians approach God with humility. We do not pretend to know all of the answers. We engage with each other, with scripture and in prayer, and with modern knowledge to try our best to understand God's nature and will for us, and how we might respond to God's call to mission with and in our community.

If that intrigues you, please stop in and visit.

Worship Services

The principal worship service at St. George’s is the Holy Eucharist. On Sundays, we offer two styles of this ancient Christian service:

Take Note

Ash Wednesday at St. George’s
Wednesday, March 1 at 12:00 and 7:00 p.m.

“Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” Church people in our tradition will recognize these words in our worship services on March 1st. They remind us of our humanity and of God’s promise in Jesus Christ. When imposed on the forehead of the person coming forward to receive the ashes, they take the form of a cross. It is a solemn moment to remind us of our mortality and penitence and to provide a fitting ritual to begin Lent, a season of bright sadness—bright because of the fruits of Jesus’ death and resurrection and sad because of the world’s sin and evil.
