| communication, community, communion It's obvious these three words have the same roots. You can't have communion without a community and a community will quickly fall apart without communications. With that in mind, the Parish Life and Celebration Team has developed some new communications tools for building and strengthening our community and the pastoral care our parish members receive. The first of these is our new Email Opt-In program designed to help members get informed more quickly about care and needs situations arising in our community. This is an addition to our traditional phone tree, prayer chain, Sunday bulletin and monthly newsletter. The Email Opt-In program will notify those who have signed up to be notified in the event of a hospitalization, injury, illness, death and other crises or urgent needs of other parishioners. We will also use the system to notify participants of the joyous events and celebrations of parishioners, such as births, promotions, etc. Our old systems work fairly well, but technology gives us the opportunity to enhance the speed and quality of our communications.
